Explore the Depth of DSD at Animal Lane
At Animal Lane, we have the rare ability to offer Direct Stream Digital (DSD) — a high-resolution, one-bit recording format celebrated for its analog-like warmth and emotional clarity. Installed by DSD pioneer Gus Skinas, our custom 32-channel system is one of only a few like it in the country. While not used in every session, DSD is available for artists looking for that next-level sonic detail — a favorite among jazz, classical, and audiophile-leaning projects.

Christopher Sloan
Christopher has been writing and recording songs since he was big enough to sit on a piano bench. He had his first pro recording studio experience in high school at a multi-million dollar facility in Vermont, and it transported him into a beautiful and magical realm. He never forgot this experience. After playing in bands and continuing to write and record, Christopher constructed K2 Audio designed Animal Lane, inspired by the memory of his exalted time in the studio in Vermont. With the help of Gus Skinas and Mickey Houlihan (Paul Winter, David Darling), Christopher built Animal Lane like a fine instrument, knowing that a great room helps to create great recordings. When he isn't in the studio, Christopher lives off the grid with his wife in a small cabin in the national forest, surrounded by the natural sounds and sights he loves.
